The group focus is the support of emerging writers working towards publication of untold stories in a range of mediums: print in literature and poems, graphics, film, social media – or a combination. It is a nurturing and respectful environment to keep writers on-track delving into reflections, memories and experiences which can be painful, confronting and the task of putting words around situations can be isolating….. we have thoughtful, affirmative and inspiring conversations….. often unexpected connections emerge.
Hosted by Centre for Rural Communities the group meets regularly at ‘The Hub’ at Dalmahoy Street, Bairnsdale.
The group evolved from ‘Stories of Influence’ the annual event providing a forum to share ‘untold’ or under-told stories to a wider audience.
‘Stories of influence’ now has a relationship with Melbourne City of Literature, Regional Presenters network and consequently some regional networks of publishers and other writers festivals.
